Tickets are now on sale for the newly named Sony Championship Hawaiʻi, which will be held January 11-16, 2027, at Waiʻalae Country Club. The new PGA Tour Champions event will feature 78 golf professionals, competing for a $3 million purse.
Ticket options for the Sony Championship Hawaiʻi are designed to suit everyone, from flexible single-day entry to premium hospitality and Pro-Am experiences. Tickets start from $30 for Wednesday’s Pro-Am and $40 on tournament days. Fans planning to attend throughout the week can purchase a $100 weekly grounds pass. For a premium experience, The Welo Club offers Pro-Am and hospitality tickets priced from $275 to $290 per day.
To make the event accessible to as many people as possible, the tournament is proud to offer free admission to children aged 15 and under accompanied by an adult. Active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents will also receive complimentary access.
As with the Sony Open, the tournament will continue to support Hawaiʻi on multiple levels. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Hawaiʻi charities, with Sony Group Corporation, PGA Tour Champions and IMG committing to a minimum $500,000 donation to local non-profits, following the event.
“This is an exciting milestone as we launch ticket sales for the new era of the Sony Championship Hawaiʻi,” Tournament Director Travis Steiner. “We’ve had a great deal of interest and are delighted to offer such a wide-ranging and inclusive ticket program, giving fans the opportunity to watch so many legends of the game compete at one of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic golf courses. The accessible pricing reflects the community-friendly nature of PGA Tour Champions, where player access and the fan experience are of the utmost importance.”
Expected to be one of the strongest fields on the PGA Tour Champions, players have been eager to confirm their return to what is one of their favorite destinations on Tour, including two former world number ones and multiple major winners, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh, and winner of the 2007 Sony Open, Paul Goydos.
Delivering an event of this caliber requires more than exceptional golf. It relies on the support of the local community, and the tournament is now inviting residents and visitors to be a part of the action as volunteers. Volunteers are now being recruited across several committees, giving a behind-the-scenes role in the week’s events, including Admissions, Gallery Management, Parking, Standard Bearers, and Volunteer Pool.
Historic Waiʻalae Country Club has hosted the PGA TOUR’s Sony Open in Hawai’i every year since 1965. It has been the setting for some of the PGA TOUR’s most memorable moments, delivering champions such as Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino, as well as current Champions Tour stars Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, Zach Johnson and K.J. Choi. The Sony Championship Hawai’i will be the sixth PGA Tour Champions event to be contested on a course that formerly hosted a PGA Tour event.
The Sony Championship Hawai’i will feature a field of 78 PGA Tour Champions players, with pro-ams on Tuesday, January 12, and Wednesday, January 13, followed by competition rounds from Thursday, January 14 through Saturday, January 16. All three rounds will be televised on Golf Channel, the exclusive cable-television partner of PGA Tour Champions. Internationally, PGA Tour Champions coverage is available in more than 170 countries and territories via 22 media partners.
Global sports marketing agency, IMG, has been appointed as the tournament operator to deliver all aspects of the Sony Championship Hawai’i. With experience spanning more than six decades of delivering leading international golf tournaments, the IMG team also runs the popular PNC Championship on PGA Tour Champions.
